Do I need a referral to see a Geriatrician?
Yes, a GP referral is required to see our neurologists. This ensures Medicare rebates apply and gives us a full picture of your medical history before your appointment.
Your first appointment usually involves a detailed history, a neurological examination, and discussion of any test results you bring. Your neurologist may order further tests such as imaging or EEG depending on your symptoms.
Yes, we offer Telehealth for follow-up appointments and selected initial consultations where clinically appropriate. Ask our reception team when booking.
Common tests include blood tests, brain or spine MRI, EEG (for seizures), and nerve conduction studies. Your neurologist will discuss which tests are right for your situation.
Bring your GP referral, any imaging discs or scan reports, recent blood results, a list of current medications, and your Medicare card. If you have been keeping a headache or symptom diary, bring that too.
