A/Prof Fred Joshua is a dedicated physician for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. Hehas an expertise in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritishaving completed a PhD in the use of ultrasound in rheumatoid arthritis and presentingresearch internationally in these areas.
A/Prof Joshua has pioneered rheumatological ultrasound in Australia and developed adegree for rheumatologists through the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, ofwhere is a Past President. He has furthered this through his work with the AustralianRheumatology Special Interest Group on Imaging.
A/Prof Joshua has been involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors formany years having previously been awarded the Prince of Wales Clinical SchoolTeacher of the Year. A/Prof Joshua has developed the undergraduate medical program atMacquarie University where he is A/Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology ClinicalDiscipline Head.
A/Prof Joshua has a particular interest in Immunotherapy Related Rheumatic SideEffects in Melanoma working closely with the Melanoma Institute of Australia andsupervising masters and medical student research.
A/Prof Joshua is a founding member of the Macquarie University Hospital PulmonaryHypertension Service, the largest private pulmonary hypertension service in Australia.
