Professor Paul Bird
Paul Bird is an experienced rheumatologist and researcher, dedicated to the expert management of patients with all forms of arthritis and rheumatic disease. Professor Bird received his medical degree with Honours from the University of Newcastle and completed his physician and rheumatology training in Sydney. Pursuing research alongside clinical medicine and patient care, he completed a PhD in 2005 examining MRI in Rheumatoid arthritis, and a Graduate Diploma in MRI. He continues to undertake arthritis research with fellow Australian rheumatologists and with international colleagues.
A/Professor Fredrick Joshua
A/Prof Fred Joshua is a dedicated physician for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. He has an expertise in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis having completed a PhD in the use of ultrasound in rheumatoid arthritis and presenting research internationally in these areas.
Dr Jonathan Wright
Dr Jonathan Wright is a rheumatologist who will be joining Integrated Specialist Medical Care in Kogarah this October. Dr Wright completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Wollongong in 2011 and has since earned his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in both Rheumatology and General Medicine. His training spans Australia and New Zealand, giving him a broad and comprehensive understanding of rheumatic conditions.
Dr Xiaoqian Liu
Dr Xiaoqian Liu is a dedicated Rheumatologist and researcher specialised at all aspects of musculoskeletal, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. She has ten years’ (2004-2014) working experience in Rheumatology in China and five years’ (2021-2025) experience as a Rheumatology Fellow at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Tien Tay
Tien Tay is committed to providing the highest level of clinical care for rheumatic disease. He is skilled in all aspects of rheumatic disease and has a special interest in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic vasculitis, including Giant cell arteritis and Polymyalgia Rheumatica.
Dr Leticia Deveza
Dr Leticia Deveza is a rheumatologist and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, with clinical appointments at Royal North Shore Hospital and in private practice. She contributes to the teaching of medical students and leads an active research program focused on osteoarthritis and inflammatory myopathies. Dr Deveza received the Early Career Excellence Research Award from the Australian Rheumatology Association in 2025 and currently serves as a grant reviewer for major funding bodies, including the MRFF and Arthritis Australia. In her clinical practice, she combines evidence-based approaches with patient preferences to guide treatment. She is personable and takes a holistic approach to patient care.
