Frequently asked questions

Your Questions, Answered

Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

Yes, in most cases you’ll need a referral from your GP or another doctor to see one of our specialists. This helps us understand your medical history and ensures your visit is covered by Medicare rebates where applicable.

Bring your referral letter, Medicare card, any relevant test results or scans, a list of current medications, and your private health insurance details if applicable. It’s also helpful to jot down your symptoms and any questions you want to ask.

Initial consultations are usually longer than follow-up visits, as your specialist needs time to review your history, examine you, and discuss a management plan. Expect to allow extra time, especially if further tests are needed on the day.

Yes. We work closely with your GP and any other specialists involved in your care, sharing updates and results so your treatment stays coordinated and everyone is on the same page.

You’ll leave with a clear management plan, which may include further tests, medication, or follow-up visits. Our nursing staff are also on hand to support you between appointments and answer any questions as your treatment progresses.
