Dr Xiaoqian Liu is a dedicated Rheumatologist and researcher specialised at all aspects of musculoskeletal, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. She has ten years’ (2004-2014) working experience in Rheumatology in China and five years’ (2021-2025) experience as a Rheumatology Fellow at Royal North Shore Hospital. Her strength is to synthesize and utilise the latest evidence combined with her unique experience in her clinical practice to promote high quality personalised patient care.
She has more than ten years of clinical research background. She finished her master’s degree in China (2003-2006) and PhD (2015-2020) in The University of Sydney. She remains active in clinical research and medical teaching. She has fourteen publications as a leading author. She presented a number of impactful oral presentations in both national and international conferences including The American College of Rheumatology convergence, Joint New Zealand Rheumatology Association and Australian Rheumatology Association Annual Scientific Meeting.
She has particular expertise and a number of years research experience in complementary medicine in treating osteoarthritis. Her expertise and potential interest includes the diseases listed below but not limited to:
- Inflammatory arthritis: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthritis, crystal arthritis including gout and CPPD diseases.
- Non-inflammatory arthritis and other musculoskeletal diseases: osteoarthritis, low back pain, osteoporosis, gluteal tendinopathy, Paget’s disease, diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH).
- Connective tissue diseases: lupus, myositis, scleroderma, Sjogren’s, Behcet’s disease, sarcoidosis, vasculitis.
